About us

Llety Arall Cyf is a Community Benefit Society , owned by their members on the basis of one vote per person. Nine Directors are elected by the members at the AGM on a 3 year rotation. Directors will not receive any remuneration for their work as Directors, except for reimbursement of any costs incurred. Meetings will be held and decisions will be made in accordance with the rules of the society. Information about the Directors is available on the website or on request.

At the annual meeting HELD 16 November 2017 elected the following Board of Management

Menna Machreth Jones (secretary)

Menna has lived in Caernarfon for 7 years. Originally from Llanddarog, Carmarthenshire, she moved to the north to study for an MA and then a PhD in Welsh literature to research the literary response to the devolution referendum 1979 and 1997. She was the chairperson of the Welsh Language Society and in that role she gained experience of leading campaigns and developing ideas for policies relating to the status of Welsh, education and community. She currently works for the Baptist Union of Wales and helps churches develop a vision for their future viability based on their skill. She has traveled extensively and based on those experiences believes that Caernarfon has much to offer the independent and cultural traveler.

Selwyn Jones (Chairman)

Selwyn is a registered architect who has run the community architecture company Pensel Cymunedol since 1996 and has lived in the Caernarfon area since 1981. The company specializes on sustainable community projects with the work covering all aspects of community architecture projects . The work includes 2 community projects with accommodation - Gerlan cabin (includes preparation of a business plan) and Court Ednowain, Trawsfynydd.

With Eirian James, his partner Penpal, has developed and manages two adjacent properties in Palace Street Caernarfon set as shops and offices.

A Sel enjoys reading and has been a committee member of several organizations over the years. Other Accommodation currently takes precedence him.

Trystan Evans (Treasurer)

I live in Caernarfon with our family for ten years, but originally from Minffordd, Penrhyndeudraeth. My first degree as a Building Surveyor and I also have Masters degree MSc in Sustainable Environmental Management.

I have worked for over twenty years with the Association of Local Housing construction and repair in the field of social housing. By now, I work for Anglesey County Council and is responsible for developing and building new council houses.

I was in Caernarfon Nursery Group Treasurer for three years, and is proud to support local organizations and volunteer.

I'm anxious to see Caernarfon thrive, and so in Welsh.

Owain Wyn

Owain has lived in Caernarfon for 28 years. He has run his own business, BURUM, as a business consultant since 1998. This includes projects providing advice and assistance to a number of organizations and business communities on the feasibility and sustainability of their ideas and then setting up and developing their enterprise. He has marked qualifications - a degree in town and country planning and in business administration. He has been active in the field of tourism at various stages of his career including a spell as Head of Economic Development and WERU local council and - until recently - ran a self-catering holiday accommodation business with his sister. He is a member and Vice Chairman of Snowdonia National Park Authority where his duties include being Chairman of the Management Board of Plas Tan y Bwlch, the environmental study center of the Authority. He is also a trustee and treasurer at a national charity

Wyn Roberts

Wyn has lived in Llandwrog outside Caernarfon for ten years. He is marketing director of AQUA Marketing Ltd, a company established as a business in March 2007, and incorporated since September 2007.

The company specializes in developing marketing strategy, digital marketing and campaign management, especially within the field of tourism, where AQUA has proven successful at achieving marketing objectives on time as within budget. By now, AQUA has earned an impressive list of clients throughout Wales, London, Bristol, Manchester, Caer, and Argentina, with extensive experience of managing campaigns in Welsh.

Previously, Wyn had over 20 years of experience marketing for several national institutions in the industrial sector such as:

Lowri Williams

Bangor is one of Lowri Originally mae now lives in Caernarfon after a period living in Cardiff. He lived in the Basque Country as part of her degree in Spanish and Welsh and has spent extended periods traveling in South and Central America and Asia. He worked in language planning for years now and as part of that has experience in managing projects and grants. He now works in the field of policy and Welsh.

Lowri accustomed to welcoming people to Welsh household. She grew up in a hall for students Welsh in Bangor and was also home to people from many other countries. Other Accommodation hope that it can provide the same warm welcome to Welsh and others from around the world alike.


Mae Dani lives in Menai Bridge in Anglesey. One of Saxony in Germany is it originally. Has lived in Berlin for 15 years she moved to Wales 2015 to learn Welsh and lived in Welsh. Ers mis Medi 2018 she works to coordinate the project by the Welsh Language Initiatives Welsh World Business that supports small businesses to develop their use of Welsh.

Dani arrange chat sessions for Welsh learners at Bangor and other activities to support learners in the area. And is a member of Bangor Language Initiative.

In her spare time she sings with the choir over the Bridge, choir for learners and fluent Welsh, and she relaxed when running and walking in the mountains and at the seaside.
